My new nephew has arrived!

Mandy (The Hathorns)had her baby this morning at 7:30am! Mother and son are doing great and I can't wait to get over to the hospital to see them. I just wanted to let those of you who follow her blog know that she is doing good and I am sure that as soon as she can she will get pictures of Tristin on her blog!

Comfort Food...

Well comfort food for me at least! I took the day off today so that I could go with Ryan to his doctor's appointment in Joplin and we had a few other errands to run. Ryan's doctor appointment went great and he was released for light (sit down) duty and should be heading back to work (part-time) next week. Which is good because it's been two months and he needs/wants to get back into the swing of things as do I need/want him to as well :)hehe

Anywho, we hit the bad weather on our way back home and it basically took us about 2 1/2 hrs for about an 1 1/2 long drive. Since the rain was so bad and we didn't know when it was going to let up we decided to put our errands on hold and just go home. With nothing to do and being hungry, I decided to make things I was craving.

This is home-made salsa. Ryan and I make this a lot during the summer because it's easy, cheap, and we LOVE chips n salsa. This is really simple and here's how you make it:
4-5 Tomato's- deseeded & diced(I use roma tomato's)
Jalapenos chopped- (how many is on how hot you like it)
1/2 white onion chopped
Garlic Powder (to taste)
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)

Combine diced tomato's, chopped jalapenos, chopped onion in a blender and mix together until desired texture. (I like it a bit runny myself) Then add salt, garlic powder, and pepper to taste. It usually takes several shakes of garlic powder for me.
Then enjoy!

This is my famous guacamole! I absolutely love this stuff and I have to say I love mine :) Now that I am done tutting my own horn, here's how to make it:
4 ripe avocados- depitted & mashed
1-2 roma tomato's- deseeded & diced
1/3 cup of purple onion- diced
1/3 cup of jalapenos- diced
splash of Lemon juice
Salt- to taste

Combine the smashed avocados, diced tomato's, diced onion, diced jalapenos, splash of lemon in a bowl. Add salt to taste and enjoy!

Now for my favorite desert next to Strawberry Shortcake is Banana Pudding! I love, love, love this stuff. I am not really a desert person but since I have been pregnant I always have to have something sweet to top of my meals and I have been craving this for some time now and decided to finally make some. Here's how to make it:
Buy a box of vanilla wafers and some bananas then follow the directions on the box!
Then enjoy!

Well hope everyone enjoys some of my favorite comfort foods!

Finished Nursery!

Here are some pics of the nursery! It is finished...for the most part! I am having maternity pictures done at the end of April and those will go over the crib and I am waiting on the changing pad cover to come in the mail, it matches the blanket on the crib!

Now all I need is my baby boy!

Relaxing Sunday!

Sunday was such a great day! We went to Ryan's parents and had brunch and then played outside until we had enough.

Kaid was helping his GiGi pick up lose branches on the ground! She was picking them up and Kaid was throwing them into the ditch behind their house.

The boys decided to get their guns out and do a little target practice. Kaid has a chickmunk gun that he loves to shot. Personally guns make me very nervous, especially with Kaid but I understand it's a boy thing so I let him shot his little gun as long as he pays attention to what he is doing and Ryan or his grampie are around to help. He actually is really good at shooting. I know that he does get alot of practice b/c his papa on his mom's side has guns and lets him shot too.

He would go and check to see where he hit after each time! He would get closer to the center with each shot!
He also collected a bag full of shells!

This picture really makes me look pregnant! All of my summer shirts and t-shirts are a bit tight b/c I am starting to grow faster...I only have about 2 months left so I really don't want to buy any more maternity clothes. But after seeing this photo, I just might have too :)

It was a great day and I hope everyone was able to get outside and enjoy it like we did!

Race for the Cure!

I just wanted to remind everyone that the Race for the Cure is coming up on April 25th, 2009! I walked in the Race last year and plan on continuing this tradition every year b/c I am a big supporter of this event. I am a woman, a daughter, a mother, etc and I have had family members who have struggled with this disease and have survived so I always try to show my support.

I joined a new team this year, Brides for the Cure. Please check out the info and join us in raising money for this great cause. Check out my personal page to donate or find out more information!

*Update on my worries*

Glad to report that my grandma's spots on her lung is not cancer! So that is great news and a huge relief b/c she is basically my mother and I am not ready to lose her yet (not that I will ever be ready but you know)I still have a lot of life questions and decisions I will need her help with!

My mother in law is doing great as well...She is back to normal! It was an inner ear problem that has corrected itself. So weird but she is good to go too!

Sure makes things a lot nicer knowing that everyone is in good health again!

Thanks to everyone who was helping me pray...IT WORKED! :)

Rock Star Baby!

I am so excited! I was in this little store the other day called Bella Jack's, and they carry a few items from this baby brand, Rock Star Baby, it's by Bon Jovi and one of his band members. I love there stuff b/c Ryan and I are kinda into those things. We like the more edgier, rockstar things!

I bought Trigg this pacifier at Bella Jack's (his is all black though)!

In fumbling through their website I saw that they sold strollers...Well I saw this stroller and said I have to have it! They don't' sell the strollers on their website, you have to go through other stores that sell them. So I spent 2 days searching for this stroller and finally found it on Ebay!

I just bought this today! I am so excited...Trigg is going to be styling in his Rock Star Stroller! It was the same cost for the other stroller I had picked out at Babies R Us, so that was also good news...I was thinking I would find the stroller but it would be way out of my price range, happy to report that it wasn't. Now they do have another verison of this stroller that is $600 and that is way out of my price range but this one is just perfect.

Worries but it's Friday so it's not all bad...

Yesterday my mother-in-law was taken to the ER and then admitted to the hospital. She was really dizzy, throwing up non stop, and couldn't walk so in the ER they found that her equilibrium was off balance. It is the weirdest thing, it just off sets for some odd reason and causes you to be really sick and then naturally it just resets itself. It doesn't happen over night though which is the bad thing about it. It can take days or so. While she was in the ER they notice her heart would stop beating, so the are running more tests to check that out. She hasn't had any health problems so this is a shock that all of a sudden she is sick. She is suppose to see a neurologist today and hopefully get the results or have the test done on her heart as well. Hopefully she will get to go home today but if not today then soon.

My grandma, who is basically my mother (she raised me), has 3 areas in between her lungs that they did a pet scan on yesterday. She will find out today or Monday if it is cancer. My grandma is prone to cysts, tumors and things but she is getting older and her body just isn't wanting to hang in there with her. Hopefully it will just be more cysts, or something real minor.

So far 2009 has not been a great year for our family. The only real highlight is that our son will be born in June of 2009, hopefully by then things will start to look up and all these bad things will go away. I think everyone has had a rough last 2 years or so and I think that we all should just take a few deep breaths and pray that it all gets better.

I can tell you that all of these things that have happened to family and friends around me sure makes me count my blessings and be thankful of what I do have! If you wouldn't mind to say a little prayer for my mother-in-law and my grandma! I would appreciate it.

Now on a much happier note, it is FRIDAY and a beautiful day! So I think that everyone should get out there and enjoy our spring weather!

Happy Friday and Happy Spring Weekend!

Bye,Bye Baby Tooth

Kaid is finally starting to lose his baby teeth! This is exciting b/c it means that he will start getting his healthy adult teeth but it is also a little sad b/c this also means that he is growing up! Gosh this happens too fast. Kaid and I were looking through pictures last night and we came across one of Ryan, me & Kaid on the couch and I was feeding him a bottle, he was so little. Kaid couldn't believe how little he used to be, he loved looking at pictures from back then. He also didn't recognize Ryan b/c he had all his hair and it was really dark. We look a lot younger too, well we were younger, but it just is crazy how fast things change!

Here Kaid is proudly showing off his missing tooth during his bath last night! He lost it at his mom's house the night before last and the tooth fairy brought him $2.00 in exchange for his old tooth. Amazing! I only used to get a quarter, man my tooth fairy was cheap! :) j/k...

Oh how times have changed!

26 Week Update & Proud Parent

3rd Trimester! Oh my goodness, I can't believe I am in my 3rd trimester. Trigg continues to grow as do I. Here is my 26 week belly shot.

I am doing great so far, just the constant uncomfortableness from the stretching and pulling of my skin. I haven't been sick in months and have had a great amount of energy. Which has been great for getting Trigg's nursery done. I am eating pretty much anything and go through a gallon of milk in like 3 days. :)

Trigg is super active and his kicks are getting stronger everyday. Some actually hurt. I have 3 months to go and absolutely can't wait to hold my baby!

Now to brag about my other son, Kaid. He attends Prairie Grove Elementary School and they have a Tiger of the Month Club. This is where if you make good grades then you are featured for a month in this club. You have your picture put in the paper with the other winners.

Kaid made February's Tiger of the Month club! YEAH KAID! I am so proud of you. Kaid is incredibly smart, he does so well with his spelling & reading but does struggle a bit in his math. Which poor kid, so does his dad and step-mom, so we are no help. But he has managed to bring it from an F to a B. So we are very proud of him. I have the newspaper article but keep forgetting it at home. He looks so cute in the paper :)

A Baby Shower

Saturday I hosted Mandy's baby shower. Everything went great except the weather. It was freezing cold plus it was snowing like crazy, the entire day. Even though the weather was bad, we still had a great turnout. Pretty much all who RSVP showed up, minus a person or two.

I had help hosting from my long-time friend and one of Mandy's best friends, Jessica. She lives in Dallas but she came in to be there and co-host with me. I really appreciated her help, even though I love doing this stuff, it makes things alot easier when you have help! Thanks so much Jess...

Mandy's nursery is done in blue, green, zebra, and giraffe so in the spirit of keeping up the theme of the nursery I Incorporated this into the shower. It turned out so cute, I was very pleased with the whole shebang :)

Me, Mandy & Jessica

Mandy's sisters made this diaper cake. Isn't it so cute...Nice job girls!

Sorry the pictures are a little fuzzy or dark, I was using my father-in-laws camera b/c mine is a piece of you know what, and I guess I wasn't familiar with how to use the flash and focus :)

I was happy to host the baby shower for my friend Mandy and I hope she had a good time and got things that she wanted.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and stayed warm on Saturday!
